Another month. Another newsreport. Is this really the job Paprika wanted? He was already quite late, considering how much information he had to gather himself.. He was sick of the bland ass cue cards, but understood just fine why Inkwell had those around. Easier to just report what you know, rather than having to gather the info.. But where's the personal touch? And most of the news was.. well, by the time it was reported, no longer new. Not that he blamed the ol' bones for that; that's just how the studio execs wanted it. For some reason. Maybe he should try to convince them otherwise. But for now..

"..Hello fans everywhere! Time for the uh.. semi-pseudo-kind-of-we're-trying-but-are-we-really monthly news!" He glances over to the tiny pile of news he got.. Barely worth it.

"Let's start off by saying Happy Slumbering Feast!! As yes, we're in the third and final month for the year, our grand fall event. Take care of yourself, your loved ones and the ones who passed away, respectfully. Don't forget your last little free Tricky Treat in the shop!"

"News from the Oracle Shop: There's some annoying noise in the background. Seems everyone's having a hard time pinpointing it's origins. Who knows what strange magical invention could be causing this.. If anything, it's driving Leander mad and he's asking for folk to help look and listen around."

"For this month, it's been heavily suggested that we get out of the fall blues and get into the .. colorful hues! Well, some of you with funky goo tones and chameleon traits might have it easy, but we're talking images! Get your best photos, drawings, sculptures.. and give them a different tone! Why not! As for those inclined to write among us, why not describe how you would imagine a world in a different hue?"

"About our new Gellys friends: We got more information on 'em!.. Or at least, identifying traits. It took quite some effort to catalogue these, especially since they're elusive and some we only know through word of mouth.. But hey, turns out some Gellys like potions, some had quite an effect on 'em, while others are.. well, pretty much what would happen to a Mhoat or Vabbit. It's gonna be a lucrative time for the Oracle.. maybe.

"And we also got some friends lining up to find a new home; some Gellys just struggle in this new world, unfortunately. Maybe you can help them? You can find more information over at the housing facility.."

..Felt like last month was a better newsreport. Hrm. Ah well. The information he gathered himself was more about "site updates"... he thought it could be interesting to note, but it seems it was mostly bug fixes, whatever that meant.

"..Well, next month should be the Gala, and I should get to prepping for that as well, but how about few images from the last month!"

Paprika finds himself once again visiting the studio.. He's been called in to once more take over for the old bones.. It's nothing new at this point, but.. Hm. Surely, a monthly reoccurence should be.. monthly? Not once every two months.. It's not as if Pap blames ol' Inkwell, the guy's got a lot on his mind and it seems his friend the researcher is continuously trying to get him involved in things- so you'd think the higher ups would take notice sooner than this. It's been decent fun hanging out with Inkwell in the past, and Pap wouldn't mind sharing the spotlight more with him, but at this rate, it seems like the spotlight is going to be lonely..

And sure enough, as expected.. In the studio, and not a bone in sight.. Hrm.. Not a SINGLE bone, in fact.. Even that skeleton that always hangs out in the studio is gone. Guess Inkwell must've removed that prop.. What was it for, anyway..?.. And, on that note, the place actually looks somewhat.. tidied up. Except for a single letter addressed to Paprika.. Hmm..

"Contractor Paprika, congratulations! You've been chosen to represent the news. Inkwell has requested a transfer to the reporter department, and will be dealing with situations as they unfold at the scene. His request has been officially approved, which left a hole in the news casting department. You have been chosen to fill that hole!" Paprika pauses. That's some .. word choice there. Wonder which intern had to write this. "After your successful report last week-" .. Two months ago, at this point, you mean.. "-it was clear to us you were the right choice for this position. Please let us know of your decision to accept this job by the end of the year."

Paprika goes into a frown.. So they've known Inkwell was planning on shifting jobs for.. months now? Is this why he was asked to fill in during the summer..? But to not approach him for literally months after that.. and to leave a letter in the studio rather than sent it to him.. Ho boy. How out of touch are these managers.. Wait, there's the reason: They're managers.. Anyway, time to get to work.

"..Hello fans everywhere!.. So, turns out the old bones seems to have found himself a new line of work to pursue.. Well, good on him, but that leaves only ME to do the news around here- ain't that exciting?! Maybe I can overhaul the program a little, work the stiffness out.. really debone the news, hah!.. Let's actually get started here: We're smack dabberoni in the middle of our grand fall event; the Slumbering Feast!"

"Like every year, we're honoring our ancestors and all that jazz after the turtonics spread back out after the events of the previous festival. This year we got ourselves Mynrosians looking for some spooky locales, folks dressing up rather silly, a big ol' cauldron of gifts for the little ones as well as the big ones who like surprises.. and finally, discovering creepy crawlies out in the wild- a new activity for young and old, just be sure to keep your distance. Remember, during the Slumbering Feast the seasonal shop gives out goodies even if the cauldron itself isn't around, so check the shop every month!"

"A new festival also means new pets and new traits! Why we decide to reveal new information during festivals? I honestly can't tell you. Tradition? But it seems like there are plenty of new forms Mynrosians can take. And you don't even need to take a potion for these!.. Though if we're talking potions.."

"Despite all the nice help during the last two months, it seems the Oracle is sick of Leander moping around, and requests you take him out for a break! I would consider that a pretty dang nice thing to ask.."

"If it weren't for the fact that the Oracle themself actually requests the same pampering as Leander has received. If you ask me, that assistant should simply quit his job, but I feel like if it weren't for him, the Oracle Shop would be closed indefinitely.. They're open fully this month, though, so be sure to take advantage of that. I did hear there's more in store for us, something new brewing.. But that's probably a new flavor of potion. Apparently there's one that changes you into a pooltoy now? I'm not taking any chances with that stuff. And while speaking of magic brews, I heard news that they're taking students for magic again? Lots of interesting news can be read on the Magic pages.. Seems like a lore overhaul is incoming, thank Polybios for that."

"..Aaand after last month's sweater weather, it seems the chills aren't over yet. I've yet to introduce our new balloon friends, but let's just say they are masters at giving us creepy stories! Some say they have ancient knowledge of mhoats, that because of some strange magic they've become fearsome creatures.. Well, they sure know the spirit of the season. I don't trust that nonsense one bit, but it successfully scares folk all around."

"..Can't really continue without introducing them: Gellys! Apparently they were the 'mystery balloons' that I mentioned last news report.. Always love that I get absolutely no information aside from a few cue cards, right.. I can't tell much about them, but they're a new species found on the last expedition. The mainland is as dangerous as ever, but these friendly folk survived just fine, and some came back to the islands. I suppose you'll find them around more and more as time progresses. For now, they're still a bit shy, so info is sporadic and they're not yet ready to have their children interact with ours- fair enough, if you ask me! Let's get to know each other first. They're no creation of Yel and Myn, so relationships are not as easily built as with the vabbits.."

... Pap paused. That was quite a lot.. And there's yet more to cover. But perhaps it's fine to let folk find some things out for themselves, and end it here for now. There's lots more to take care of, especially if he's really about to permanently take over..

It's another warm day in the Realm of Mynros, but fortunately not as hot as last month.. Paprika had basically been suffering throughout the blazingly hot month, but now that things cooled down somewhat, he found himself wandering the halls of the studio that records all the ins and outs of the realm, to bring the news to the people on monthly basis. He had been asked to come in last month, but with the blazing heat, he had to decline.. just venturing a single step outside had caused his aethic to start melting and he noped right back inside where it was cooler. How some fools could brave the beaches in this weather, he could not understand. He had no beach body, nor was it sweaty. More like urban body melty, hah!

...But uh.. The halls of the studio were.. disconcerteningly.. quiet? There usually was at least some interns sprinting around the hall and there has never been a time there was not a line in front of the toilet, yet now? There was not a mynrosian soul in sight. Not that Paprika could see souls, that'd.. probably be pretty hecking awesome tho!.. Wait, focus, Pap. Silent halls.. what about the actual recording booth?.... Yeah, nobody here either. Looks like Inkwell left his calendar around tho.. Hrm.. Pole expedition returning.. tomorrow? Hah, I guess that might be why everyone is out. That's a big thing, after all..

....Wait. This is.. the month before the heatwave. But there's.. nothing marked in the month after.. some anniversary is written out, but.. absolutely nothing for during the heatwave? Does that mean Inkwell hasn't been back for an entire month... following the intended return of the pole expedition?? Paprika sat back in disbelief.. He glanced over to a rather big pile of notes- all sorts of news from last month... Paprika breathed in.. Alright. Guess it's time to go to work.

"..Hello fans everywhere. It's ya boi Pap here... Yeah, that's an intro I'm not repeating. Note for next time. How is everyone? Bowling was a fun craze, wasn't it? Too bad that that magical heatwave made everything just so.. awful. Oof, am I right. Even my magical air conditioning gave up at some point, so I asked my Vabbit neighbor to dig me a tiny cellar, and it was nice and cool there.

Heard the Oracle was back last month, but what with that assistant still being on vacation, I don't think much got done in that shop. Heck, seems like things got worse, with that bug hunt.. But hey, at least everyone can now purchase those bugs from the store! The Dudbug, Purrwing and Glimmer Worms are all for sale in the Pet Shop. Their more aggressive variants, the Bombug, Burrwing and Terror Worms can be found in the Oracle Shop instead.. though I'd recommend waiting for the Oracle's return to purchase some.

Anyway, the assistant, Leander.. Well, he's back from his vacation, but considering the state of the shop? Buddy's gonna need a vacation from his vacation. Maybe you can cheer him up a little bit? Cook the dude a hearty meal or something. I don't think he gets enough time off to take care of himself proper.."

"Speaking of taking care: It seems the heatwave has postponed the anniversary somewhat, but here we are- the ninth anniversary of our great turtonic islands being linked by portals! Your family and friends who live across the globe are but a portal away, and it's past due time to celebrate that miracle of modern magic technology! Heck, I don't even LIVE on this turtonic, I just come by to entertain you with the smooooooth dulcet tone of my voice.. Don't worry, I'm not buying my own nonsense either. Anyway- be sure to join the festivities! Heard there's this neat little puzzle box going around with random goodies inside, and the contents are apparently so hefty, it's limited per person! Now I want to go get all three at once.."

"On a completely different note: Magic researchers have been working together with local celebrity Skylar to figure out how to better teach folk magic! With Vabbits in the mix, and the old ways of magic teaching not being quite as effective for every Mhoat either, there just needed to be a change. They've figured some things out, and advancements are definitely being made, but they're not there yet. They're looking for something TRULY universal, and perhaps that may be the hardest task of all.. We're learning more of magic every day, like how it influences the weather on our turtonic islands for one.. But there's definitely a storm brewing in the development of magic. Maybe you can learn magic easier with the new techniques? There's a new test up, and if you succeed, you're definitely primed for learning some basic elements.. eventually."

Before Paprika continues, he reads more of the notes. It seems a lot of these are talking about strange balloons found on the expedition, and how they intended to bring some back, but having trouble.. The expedition therefore returned later than planned, right in the magic heatwave, which had a weird effect on these balloons.. Pap scratched his head. Balloons??? What does THAT mean? But it looks like that's why Inkwell hasn't been around. Apparently he's keeping track of things there, together with his ol' pal Polybios.. Heh, maybe that's why there's been no Timeless Explorers sessions ran lately..

Pap blinked back to reality. "Er, right, sorry for the pause. So.. all I can say is uh.. be on the look out for.. balloons? I have no idea what these notes mean but there's something up with them, apparently. So. Yes. That. Anyway, time to wrap this all up!"

"Hello my dear Mynrosians! I heard from a very fuzzy source that there happened to be a furry fuzzy hunt going on~ So I guess this summer is starting out quite furry and purrideful, you could say! As it is June, the month of pride, with that it's time for a purrideful hunt and a furry box from the pet shop~ I hope you all enjoy the fun tasks about and the month in general~ A small note about the hunt, there is no extra reward besides the hunt items. Well them and I guess you could say you also get a lot of fuzzy feelings (from all the catfur.)"

"Speaking of summer, the First Light Festival is here! Which on the note of festivals, the Spring fest is now at a close and the adoption fair seems to have had some luck handing out pets! How wonderful~ Congratulations to Bio-zuzu, Fulgarite and PromptoBeans for helping out and adopting some cute pets. There are some plans for the unadopted pets, but we'll leave you in suspense for now..

Back to the First Light Festival, it is here and that does include some of it's festivities, such as the Turtonic Ritual and the Grand Light Display. Although I heard they had a new ritual that deals with cleansings and Hot Springs. Alongside it, if you enter for it, there may be a badge for those who join in on the new ritual and of course, in general! At least it's not too hot to do so for now, so probably best to hop in fast before the summer heat swarms in and melts your bones~"

"Which as always, there are new pets and traits for the First Light Festival and maybe even a brand new trait category for a certain species~ Which, speaking of pets, I do want to note about the new Oracle task as well. It seems the bug hunt is still on and that there is a new hunt for a few new pets there as well! I heard one is quite purrfect so I may go out and help on this one. Just this once!"

• Two New Pride Pets: The Pride Mollucera and the Pride Tampukin!
• The Tricrabbytops pet species has been renamed to Mollucera.
• Pet variations are now more easily visible in the encyclopedia.
• In fact, there are many new methods to focus on pets only: sort functions, search functions and new pages.
• A Pet Variations page has been created- it is a work in progress, but it may be finished soon..
• Pet species added as traits: Ambrosia Fish, Boxy Cat, Candy Llama, Mollucera, Nyatsdis, Onyan, Possum Eel, Sashimimi, Telefish and Wooly Raptor.
• Added per June 5th: There is a new Subtype Visual Trait Index, showing only traits that a certain Subtype can have- and with a switch that allows you to include basic species traits as well.

"Onto some good news though! Before they realized I was the one to prank the studio and break my bones, I only got bones! Anyyyyways! It seemed all of those loose pets were all wrapped up and caught so no more pets invading houses stories. And no more food snatchers, I heard about so many picnics that had gotten ruined by those pet stealing only the food. Although if you'd like to snag one of those lil' cute rascals, please check out the pet shop~ I do want to note that the pet raffles and this seasonal event will be ending this month so if you'd like to snag any of those, please do~"

"Speaking of pets! Those mysterious “freebie” pets have been taken in by the Oracle and not only that! It seems they have a new task of catching more type of pets. I wonder what they are doing with all of those pets... I guess they are one heck of a pet hoarder for sure!"

"There are some minor news for updates as well:

• The former Pet species Subtypes have been replaced with Pet species Traits! Now only the main Mynrosian species subtypes are left.
  • Speaking of, a few Pet species have been added as traits. More will be added in the nearby future.
• There is a brand-new Glossary Page, courtesy of Bio-zuzu - you can find it under the Info menu.
  • We are aware that the letter link-bar on the Glossary Page is currently hovering over the navigation menus. It's being looked into.
• The Earning Caps page has been updated to look more organized.
  • Additionally, we've decided that Custom Pets, as in those with a Masterlist Entry, count as an Extra Character rather than for the Pet Bonus. Which means two Custom Pets counts as two extra Mynrosians.
• You can now quickly see on a User's Characters page which are available for gift art or writing! Just hover over the !
• Previously, the Items and Traits sections of the Encyclopedia occassionally repeated items/traits, hiding others in the process. This long-time bug is officially fixed!
• A bunch of new traits dropped!

I'm glad to not be much of a nature fan as it's been quite the sneeze-y month as so many Mynrosians have been suffering by all of the pollen that's around. Nature has been doing SO well that it's quite mad and in full bloom! So be careful and take care everyone! With the Spring Event ending this month and Summer right around the corner, hopefully the pollen will die down by then."

Realm of Mynros is looking for temporary guest artists to take part in a big sale that will release on World Baking Day- the third Sunday of May.
As for World Baking Day 2024, it falls on the 19th of May!

For this year's World Baking Day event, we're opening Guest Artist sign-ups for a specific theme: Baked Breads!
We're not very strict on theming, however, as long as it's even remotely related we will allow it.
We are looking for designers for Mhoats and Vabbits. We will also be releasing a few new traits on World Baking Day that GAs will be allowed to use for their designs!

So, please read the requirements below and apply to be considered as one of the potential artists for this advent!

Requirements

• All participants will need to have a PayPal or some other means to accept online payment when their design is claimed.
• You must have a Discord account. All designers will be expected to join a server for the duration of the advent to share designs, receive feedback, and finalize sales.
• All sales will go directly to the artist, no percentage cut will be taken from the design sales for any of our GAs.
• Artists will be able to make 1-2 designs total. Perhaps more, if there is a low turnout.
• Designs being sold for a set price should have a minimum price of $25, but artists will be able to choose to use the alternate sales method of the Offer to Adopt style format instead.
• All designs may only be posted from the day the design is released to the public and onward.
• Designers will need a Realm of Mynros (https://www.mhoats.com/) account to see when their design sales and follow up with contacting their buyers.
• All artists are encouraged to post their adopts on other platforms (DeviantArt, Twitter, Toyhou.se, etc.), but your post should link back to the main sales post on Realm of Mynros to encourage those interested in the design to check out the site as well.

• Finally.. Please refrain from concepting before you have been accepted as a GA, unless you intend to use the design for personal use in the case you are not picked. Additionally, do not message the mods to share ideas ahead of time as we cannot guarantee that a design theme will be available to use until the GAs are picked.

This is the last month to the Starlight Gala and I'd like to give it a little boost before the season changes~ Alongside the snow storm the winter has given us!!! I heard it's going to be a very cold Valentines, a cold that's so cold my bones will be frozen to the spot!"

"There are some minor news for updates as well:

• Our old OA Oboe has stepped down due to mental health reasons. We wish you the best of health and luck in your future endeavors!
• We did bring in two new OAs, though! After their great adopt set as GAs, restingden and BnG will be popping in to help out!
• The new OAs are now available to be seen on the OA customs page, although be sure to check if they are open or not!
• All rarities have been updated, all seasonal mythics and the potion mythic have been renamed to disclude the mythic part.
• Awards on the Awards page are now smaller and more easily viewed.
• Sakura Faux Horns are now updated and no longer differentiate between v1 and v2. You can still see the old 'v2' as variation trait, but should not be used on character designs updates.
• The sublists for Mhoats, Vabbits and Pets have been updated to list characters of the respective species, rather than character category. This allows, for example C-0008: Skylar, to show up in the Mhoats sublist as well.
• We've added a distinction for C-0001: Yel and C-0002: Myn; they are now known as Precursors, rather than Mhoats.
• Pet Subtypes are out- Pet Species traits are in! This to provide better visibility in both the overall subtypes and the pet species. All pets have been updated accordingly.
• And a few more smaller updates, mostly in terms of Lorekeeper Quality of Life..

According to this note, it says there are special prizes to be won the more sessions are run, and that there is a big special reward for those who finish the entire campaign.. Hrm.. • You can now draft a submission, even cancel it back to draft if you made a mistake!
• The Species visual trait index will now have small pop-ups if you click on them, for more information!
• You can copy the character code, for any non-MYO character, by clicking the little icon next to their name on the ML entry!
• We now have a space up front showing the most recent news and one random open design still for sale!
• In the Gallery, subgalleries now show up properly in the sidebar, and up to three generations of subgalleries are shown.
